As Black women, our identities are inevitably intersectional and unique. While our needs and desires are often unacknowledged by mainstream narratives and systems of power, our self-advocacy and ability to identify solutions benefit all people. When we address the barriers that present roadblocks for us, we lay the foundation for better conditions and experiences for others.

Other times, we act as if our differences are barriers to connection. The truth is that, even with all of the beautiful diversity that exists within our community of Black women, we are all connected, and we can all learn from one another.
