We are grateful to have multiple dynamic museum professionals among our BlackFemaleProject network. Through them we know that navigating the museum industry as a Black woman is complex. The BlackFemaleProject Conversation Series began as a monthly series in March of 2015 in Oakland, California. The Series prioritizes creating an emotionally safe space where women talk openly about workplace experiences and other topics related to BlackFemaleProject.

During these conversations, women remove their guards and join an authentic dialogue about the joys, triumphs, frustration, pains, and micro-aggressions they face on a daily basis. This is a sacred space where Black women can be vulnerable in support of their emotional healing, self-confidence, discovery, and recovery.

I have never been so comfortable and seen such openness with a newly formed group of people
