Mercedes Scott

Mercedes Scott is a MD/MPH dual degree candidate. She is a medical school at UCLA in the Prime-LA and Charles Drew programs, and is currently receiving her masters in Public Health at UC Berkeley (UCB). Ms. Scott is passionate about working in underserved communities and specifically wants to improve the health of Black women. While an undergraduate at UCB, she was a research assistant in the African American Women’s Heart and Health Study where she learned how chronic stress impacts health. Ms. Scott is co-founder and President of the Minority Medical Alliance, a non-profit dedicated to providing minority medical students with resources vital to their success as future healthcare professionals. Ms. Scott ultimately desires to be an OB/GYN that takes a preventative care approach to reduce health inequities in Black communities.
