What initially inspired you to connect with BlackFemaleProject? 

Meeting Precious Stroud when working on a project for Fresno Unified School District. Her energy and aura was inspiring and contagious.

How has being a member of BlackFemaleProject positively impacted you? 

It has held me up when I have been feeling down. It has helped me identify how strong my voice and talents are. It keeps me inspired and feeling love from my sisters.

What motivated you to support BlackFemaleProject financially?

I feel that it is vital to keep something like this going to help support each other and the young Black women that are watching. 

What do you find most resonant in the BlackFemaleProject content you’ve heard, seen, or experienced? *

I love the podcasts. I am able to listen when my day slows down. Very pertinent information that I can journal, reflect and meditate on.


BRITTNEY’S BIO

Brittney Watters is a fearless educator with a commanding presence, a passion for motivating individuals to identify their purpose, and over a decade of professional experience in K-12 and post-secondary education. Brittney holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Science in Counseling, PPS Credential from California State University, Fresno. Her work in equity, inclusion, and achievement for African American students includes serving as Academic Counselor for TRiO, Upward Bound Programs at California State University, Fresno; manager for the Office of African American Academic Acceleration (A4), School Leadership, Superintendent’s Office within Fresno Unified School District; and currently as a Manager in the District’s Office of Communications. Her new area of focus is changing the culture by positive, equitable, and inclusive storytelling. She has two daughters, Aubrey (8) and Ava (7), and spends the majority of her time being present with them.
