We are excited to share our first member spotlight. We met Monique for the first time in September, right after a heartfelt inquiry from our editor, dana e. fitchett, saying, "Do we know if women are engaging with our content?"

The next day, Monique walked into our September Meetup at Farley's East in Oakland and affirmed, that not only are the stories and podcast helpful to her, but the women's stories inspire her to encourage others.

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: Monique Clark

Before joining our #100SistersStrong community, Monique Clark found herself asking the all too common question when facing a challenge at work: “Am I seeing this right?”

Compounding the challenge was the reality that she was asking the question only of herself. “[I’d] always felt isolated in my career,” she says. But this changed for Monique when she found the BlackFemaleProject podcast, which inspired her to join our Farley’s East gathering in September.

Now, she says, “It’s comforting knowing I am not alone in my struggles. Listening to the beautiful [BlackFemaleProject] stories helps me articulate my own [story], claim my space, and navigate my professional journey. [I’m working toward] being my best authentic self in the workplace.”
