As a volunteer-run organization, primarily self-funded by our founder, we rely on sponsorship and contributions to help keep this urgent project running. It has been a labor of love to host workshops and create spaces for our stories to be told and affirmed. Foundations, investors, publishers, producers, and directors are taking an interest in helping us distribute and tell our stories. This means that the umbrella of BlackFemaleProject experiences available to you, both online and in-person, will increase. Your support will allow us to invest more time into building partnerships that are critical to the growth of BlackFemaleProject.
Share our strategic vision
In January we will roll out our 2017 strategic goals and will ask for your input. Mark your calendar for Sunday, February 5, 2017 — our 2nd anniversary celebration! We will host a Story Bash in Oakland, CA where you can come to share your story in the confessional, participate in and/or observe a BlackFemaleProject Conservation in action. Everyone who attends will have an opportunity to self-express in a duo, small group, or solo. All are welcome to attend!
Deepen partnerships
An Oakland-based foundation invited us into their social good business incubation program — which includes office space in the highly sought after Jack London Square district! In January we'll be able to share details and introduce you to the GENEROUS foundation that hand-picked Precious and the BlackFemaleProject as an anchor in their incubation program, with the purpose of refining practice and building infrastructure to scale BlackFemaleProject nationally and internationally.

FINAL CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
The BlackFemaleProject is hosting an open Call for Submissions through December 31, 2016. BlackFemaleProject is a storytelling effort that prepares girls and young women for the realities of the work world by introducing stories of triumph and perseverance. Real women with satisfying careers discuss what it takes to maintain professional leadership. Add your voice to the collection.
In January, BlackFemaleProject will announce a Call for Submissions for art work that will be included in the published collection and show at a special event next fall.
