Reflections 2020 Executive Summary

BlackFemaleProject’s inaugural impact report, Reflections 2020, examines what we’ve learned from spending five years listening deeply to individual and collective stories of professional Black women. In addition to reporting on key findings, Reflections 2020 also shares the ways we imagine moving our work forward, and invites engagement and insights from our audience and community.

"Such a beautiful report—a compelling reflection of the powerful space you are creating in the world. Thank you for your leadership!" - LaShawn Routé Chatmon, Executive Director, National Equity Project

“Reading the report, listening to the podcast, became a monthly donor, Reflections 2020 is FILLING my soul!!" - Kamika Dunlop, Chief Strategist of Communications at the Women’s Foundation, California

“Being Black and female in the U.S. is the intersection of invisibility and silence. Having to navigate my course with expert precision is exhausting. Upon reading Reflections 2020, I simultaneously felt a sense of validation and belonging—empowered and liberated to be my authentic self, remove my figurative veil, and turn my volume all the way up!" - Felicia Singleton, Researcher
