6th Annual BlackFemaleProject Conversation with Black Teacher Project
On Tuesday, October 12, we gathered virtually to listen and to be inspired by Kia Walton, Abdul-Haqq Khalifah, and Nakachi Clark-Kasimu at our 6th Annual Conversation with Black Teacher Project. More than 80 people observed the conversation and participated in the breakout session. Here’s what a few attendees had to say:
These events are resources, restorative and apart of our cultural way of being connected while on purpose. There is an abundance of love, wisdom, knowledge and intelligence articulated in a way that is authentically and specific. This space is intentional and adds to our growth by recognizing what is working and what is not. Coast to coast we got us, receive this to balance out all of what you give away.

This fishbowl style conversation was AMAZING! Sometimes you just want to sit, listen, and learn. Multiple break-out rooms, padlet and jamboard share-out, digi journals and all other irritating ways people try to engage ADULTS online is exhausting when you've just gotten out of the classroom! For an introvert such as myself.

I was a little surprised by how few folks were in attendance. As a white cis female, I was also surprised how few white folk attended. I say this because EVERYONE all teachers and school staff could benefit from the conversation.
