During this season of transitions and community celebrations, we’re thinking about the link between collective liberation and our ability to experience feelings of personal freedom. Self-reflection, self-discovery, and understanding historical context all help us along in our pursuit of freedom. When we understand what's wounded us, we can begin to heal the wounds. When we understand what brings us joy, we can prioritize welcoming more of those things in our lives.
Part of BlackFemaleProject's vision is a world in which Black women can show up—at work and in any other setting—and be celebrated as our full selves, without any negative consequence. Check out this month’s resource refresh, including an interview with Precious Stroud's reflecting on pursuing happiness and freedom throughout the professional journey.
We've completed another round of 8 Weeks of Self-Discovery. We are grateful to all of our community members who participated. Our goal with this tool is to create opportunities for intentional self-reflection that helps illuminate and move toward the conditions each of us needs to stand in our truths, at work and beyond.
If you missed it this time around, you can take yourself on a self-directed self-discovery journey at any time. Click HERE to access our 8-weeks of self discovery guide.
We believe in the power of storytelling. BlackFemaleProject narratives not only encourage Black women and girls to follow their own paths, but also illuminate patterns of intersecting injustices for our employers, colleagues, and all people.
